Looking to replace specific html with Automated Editor? It can do that quite well. Equipped with both string replacement and regex rule match replacement options you should be able to achieve almost any automatic string operation you need to with the plugin. It does it automatically too, did we say?
Anyhow for those who need a bit of inspiration on how best to replace a specific html element, or wanting some more information on how Automated Editor parses the HTML of wordpress posts you have hit the right page, here we are going to discuss in more detail the process of cutting only the specific bit of the post you want, or replacing (it removes or replaces…)
Another video guide available here, this one shoes you how to go about creating your first schedule, it kind of assumes you have already made a rule, but other than that there are no pre-requisites, its quite a simple process but you want to be sure before you go wading into this plugin!
Schedules are pretty powerful things, set to run hourly, daily or at point of publishing they can target posts with a number of different features/options and run specific rules on them, giving you the freedom to nail the editing without any manual work! Read the rest »
Just starting out using automated editor? want a bit of inspiration for your first rule? Well check out our video on making your first rule for the plugin or read some of the stuff we have used it for over the past few versions:
Auto-tag stuff with pre-defined tags
Remove certain strings one of our authors couldn’t stop adding
Replace common words with Search engine friendly links, helping us build a nicely linking system
Replace keywords (we use [ebay] or [amazon]) with affiliate links
Automatically append old posts with a “did you find this useful?” sort of tail sale
Fix a typo we had been making for 4 years without realising!

Automated editor will take your content and jazz it up, doing your bidding like some blog obsessed robot. It will do what you tell it too, autonomously. You train it, telling it what to do (setup rules) and when to do it (setup schedules) and then leave it to fix all of the things you are so in the habit of manually fixing. Replace strings with other strings, remove strings, (regex too), tag, move categories, append, prepend, etc. etc. etc. (full list here – the list of things Automated Editor will do for you is also always growing, we will be adding more and more!)
So its an editing robot that lives in my wordpress install?
Yes. Yes it is. So lets look a little at how you setup your shiny new robot slave…
For those of you who have been using the plugin in anger this won’t come as a surprise but Automated Editor will soon see public release, the powerful plugin which does all the cut/place/move/slice/append sort of editing for you will be launched in the coming weeks, full to the brim with stable completeness and rounded fixes.
We will be releasing two versions of the wordpress plugin, first a “lite” free version which max’s out at 1 schedule, 3 rules and has a few ads (still all the flexible power of Automated Editor and completely FREE) and an “Ultra Pro” version which will be totally unlimited, supported and ad-free.
If you have any interest in the wordpress plugin, in terms of review copies, please do comment here and we will send you a copy, we are always looking for ways to sure up the Automated Editor ship!…
