Looking to replace specific html with Automated Editor? It can do that quite well. Equipped with both string replacement and regex rule match replacement options you should be able to achieve almost any automatic string operation you need to with the plugin. It does it automatically too, did we say?

Making a schedule…your first automated editor schedule

Another video guide available here, this one shoes you how to go about creating your first schedule, it kind of assumes you have already made a rule, but other than that there are no pre-requisites, its quite a simple process but  you want to be sure before you go wading into this plugin!

Schedules are pretty powerful things, set to run hourly, daily or at point of publishing they can target posts with a number of different features/options and run specific rules on them, giving you the freedom to nail the editing without any manual work!

Making your first Automated Editor Rule…a video guide

Just starting out using automated editor? want a bit of inspiration for your first rule? Well check out our video on making your first rule for the plugin or read some of the stuff we have used it for over the past few versions:

  • Auto-tag stuff with pre-defined tags
  • Remove certain strings one of our authors couldn’t stop adding
  • Replace common words with Search engine friendly links, helping us build a nicely linking system
  • Replace keywords (we use [ebay] or [amazon]) with affiliate links
  • Automatically append old posts with a “did you find this useful?” sort of tail sale
  • Fix a typo we had been making for 4 years without realising!

How does Automated Editor wordpress plugin work?

Lets break it down.

Automated editor will take your content and jazz it up, doing your bidding like some blog obsessed robot. It will do what you tell it too, autonomously. You train it, telling it what to do (setup rules) and when to do it (setup schedules) and then leave it to fix all of the things you are so in the habit of manually fixing. Replace strings with other strings, remove strings, (regex too), tag, move categories, append, prepend, etc. etc. etc. (full list here – the list of things Automated Editor will do for you is also always growing, we will be adding more and more!)

So its an editing robot that lives in my wordpress install?

Automated Editor WordPress Plugin is gearing up for public release!

For those of you who have been using the plugin in anger this won’t come as a surprise but Automated Editor will soon see public release, the powerful plugin which does all the cut/place/move/slice/append sort of editing for you will be launched in the coming weeks, full to the brim with stable completeness and rounded fixes.

We will be releasing two versions of the wordpress plugin, first a “lite” free version which max’s out at 1 schedule, 3 rules and has a few ads (still all the flexible power of Automated Editor and completely FREE) and an “Ultra Pro” version which will be totally unlimited, supported and ad-free.
